Writing Tutorials, Critique Groups, and Do Not Do Lists

So, I was searching on the internet the other day just looking around for ways to improve my writing skills when I came across some valuable websites. One of them was a website dedicated to listing all the things a writer should not EVER do.  I’m sorry to say I’ve broken a few of those rules myself lol.

The next website was, amazingly enough, ehow.  There were some very interesting video tutorials posted that I thought were actually rather helpful.

The third website was the online writing critique group.  This one is my personal favorite because, even though I would love to have other writers to bounce my ideas off of, I just don’t have the time to attend in-person workshops.  The best thing about it is that this critique group treats all your writing pieces completely confidentially- so you don’t have to worry about having your stories pirated.

I joined the critique group- can’t wait to see how that turns out- and “favorited” the other tutorial and the list.

I think it’s important to use every opportunity and tool I can to improve my writing, and if you love writing you probably think the same.  So, I’ve posted all the sites below:

  1. 50 Things A Writer Shouldn’t Do:  The “List” http://threeguysonebook.com/50-things-a-writer-shouldnt-do
  2. These two tutorials were actually very interesting as well as informative: How Can I Become a Better Writer? http://www.ehow.com/video_4974650_how-can-become-better-writer.html?fb_ref=like&fb_source=profile_oneline  How to Write a Novel in 28 days http://www.ehow.com/video_4974656_write-book-28-days.html?fb_ref=like&fb_source=profile_oneline
  3. The third site is my favorite- http://www.internetwritingworkshop.org/index.shtml

Good luck checking them out 🙂
